Literature Review Section:
History:
Write short section describing the history of your questions. Go back as
far as it is practical to do so.
Find 20 or so articles and books that you plan to use to discuss your question:
- Step One:
- Organize your papers into rough categories. Generally there are a couple
of sides to questions. Some will agree and some will disagree. Within
those there may be some that seem to be saying about the same thing.
- Write an introduction for each group describing in general terms what
each says.
- Step Two:
- For each citation in each category, briefly describe the findings of
the paper. Give reasons for trusting or not trusting the findings. Give
strengths and weaknesses. Give a statement of relevance. What
does this article say about my question?
- Step Three:
- Write a summary for each group. Summarize findings.
- Step Four:
- Write a conclusion summarizing the whole body of information.
