Exercise A

  1. Using the data below, prepare a table and appropriate charts and graphs to answer the following question:

How do the public and private school enrollments in Washington State compare in terms of ethnic diversity?

  1. When you have prepared the table and charts write a few sentences that interpret the data and answer the question.

Be sure to label your table and charts and cite the source of the information.

Exercise B

1.     Find online the Statistical Abstract of the United States 2006.  Locate Table 232, “Public Elementary and Secondary Enrollment by State: 1980-2002”. 

2.     Construct a table and charts or graphs to compare, for the years 1980, 1990 and 2000, Washington, the US and any two other states using some of the data from this source.  Provide appropriate titles and citation. 

3.     Write a short paragraph explaining the comparison.
