week 2: ABC, week 3: DEF
mini-thesis

The second paper is the first to be “staggered.” Groups ABC will have the first two weeks of reading to account for/respond to, while groups DEF will have weeks 1-3. While you are not responsible for every bit of reading, please mind the spirit of that part of the exercise.

The specific requirement for this assignment is to draft a mini-thesis: a two page paper driven by a clear analytical claim related to the works we’ve been reading.

These claims may be the beginning of your final paper, so take it more seriously to come up with a meaningful idea than to organize or defend your position.
