For students not participating in the Grand Canyon filed trip, there is a 4 credit option studying the hydrologic cycle. Earth’s water is in a constant state of flux, which makes the planet unique (at least in our solar system), and makes life as we know it possible. Study of the hydrologic cycle will involve an additional set of readings, field measurements, and computer analysis of results for the following elements.
This part of the class will require full daily attendance, 5 days per week for 2 weeks. Local transportation cost will not exceed $30. A field trip to eastern Washington may be part of the study, with a transportation and lodging cost of no more than $120.
