I am sorry I am a little late, my life has been by far the most hectic
it
has ever been. So I decided for the first five weeks in this class I
would
research in what I want to study for the next five weeks as well as for
the
winter semester. Besides researching I have been reading "The Color of
Water" by
James McBride, "Frida" by Barbara Mujica. I have been studying sexual
health and
since my dog became incredibly ill of "Salmon" Poisoning (which is one
of the
reasons why this is late) and I spent lots of time at the animal
hospital it had
inspired me to read more about this poisoning as well as other animal
health
related subjects. I am also studying to become a Real Estate Agent
which I think
by winter semester I may be able to get certified. This consist a lot
of math,
knowledge of houses and how to market them, as well as social skills. I
am doing
this as a back up plan since right now I have a very vague idea of what
I want
to do with my life.
I decided to do a variety of different things this
semester to figure out
what field I really want to go into and so far I have learned more
about what my
passion is, something that I have always wanted to talk about and never
can seem
to get tired of and that is sexual health and awareness of it. So I
will be
heading over to Planned Parenthood and volunteering for the next couple
of
weeks. I thought I knew everything there is to STD's or STI's (whatever
you want
to call it) and about abortions, pregnancy etc, but I was wrong. Since
studying
about these I realize there is so much more that many of us are
clueless about
and I am excited to share what I have learned.
But I have a problem, yes I would love to work
in the field of sexual
health though there is another passion which is working with animals.
So far now
I have been volunteering at the S.P.C.A and really enjoy calming down
the
animals and making them feel comfortable. I have been reading a lot
about the
health of animals and the common medical problems that dogs have. If
anyone have
an idea how I can have two jobs that work with these two major passions
of mine,
please tell me! For now I will try to figure it out myself as well as
learn as
much as I can.
I would like to work with David Rutledge. Hope this is
okay! Thanks,
Sarah M
