Artist Statement Color Schemes series
I usually start with a preliminary sketch involving lines that are reminiscent to me, not inspired by any known subject but coming from my imagination. These lines seem to have the quality of something landscapetual like snow lines on a mountain range, skyscrapers, rocky outcrops, or trees. They then evolve into compositions in which color and form are the primary subjects. To me, my art is a synthesis of my personal feelings, color, and the subjects that inspire me.,
For these works I have experimented with the idea that color defines form. I have attempted to bring forth a sense of depth and distance while at the same time evoking emotional responses and the perception of flat spaces.,
