time and narrative/the body of the audence:       So I have to say that when I first encountered some of these ideas in a college art class a couple years ago, I found myself thinking that it was really new age-y and frankly, sort of bullshit.  But the more I think about it and learn about it, the more I really like most of these ideas.  One thing I have especially struggled with is the whole "finding art in the every day" sort of thing (well that puddle piece from the beginning was a bit bullshitty...) but lately, I really like that idea especially more and more.  Pieces like David Bunn's "I feel better now, I feel the same way" - a couple years ago I probably would have said, "OK so the guy rescued some library catalogues, so what?  What's so great about that?"  But all these ideas behind the pieces are really amazing, and all the implications that are presented to us.  It's pretty crazy how many questions and ideas that sort of exhibit can bring up.  (Just to name a couple from that specific piece: isn't it crazy that information that recently took up a room full of space can now fit in a microchip? how do we feel about that?  does it make information more disposable?  is that good, bad, or neither?  is it natural?  how do we feel about something digital versus something tangible?  - and so we go down the rabbit hole...)  I guess in conclusion, times they are a'changin, and art is going to change with the times.  In my opinion, the world's getting crazier and crazier and so art is getting crazier and crazier too.  I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing or neither.  Maybe it just is.     -Julia
