Over the years the widely used term “installation art” has been scrutinized for its lack of definition. Certain critics have always tried to define what is an installation. What separates installations from all other art forms? Meanwhile installation art itself has struggled to escape the confines of definition. Installation art has endless mediums for endless messages. It cannot and should not be constricted by “defining” its properties. One can only attempt to give examples of previous works, or describe what it is not. The vagueness of the term “installation art” is what makes it so unique.
