Hickey’s views of how art functions in everyday life are some what similiar to what I think of art in the society. I also think that his views are the reason why many people in this class like this reading more than any other books that we read in this class. It seems to me that some of what Hickey feels about art are similiar to what many of us in seminar feels. We are often discussing, asking questions and even complaining about "the art world is no more about an art" (204) because of many influences around the art community, such as expectations. What seems to matter is how certain style, certain genre should look like and should be look at by the spectators in a democracy.

Many Hickey's perspective and analysis of art with something else in this essays, such as the one of art world vs. sport world brings the awareness to me of what art is becoming and has become. So after read what Hickey has to say and if we are kind of agree in most of his perspective, then what can we do about it? Is it possible for us to really change or do anything about it and how? It is easier for us to respond what Hickey said but it is going to be so hard to answer these questions. Some how, this turns out to be frustrating to me most.
