Covered with a white or bluish wax; a "bloom"

This picture was taken at the Gifts of the First People garden, when Marja was speaking about dock and such. It is a tall plant, the bark of the roots and stems is yellow and like other strong yellow plants (dock, dandelion, etc...) is allied with the liver.

See how the bluish berries are glaucous? I have heard that you can start a yeast culture from this waxy powdery substance.
