     Hello and thanks for stopping by.  My name is Mike and I have been a resident of Washington State all of my life.  After traveling around much of the world, I decided that this wasn’t such a bad place to settle down after all.  I  began my life here in a very rural part of the county where most of the people raised their own food and struggled to meet their daily needs.  We didn’t know at the time that we were poor, because everyone we knew was just like us.  We were happy and personal responsibility was just a way of life.  Much of my time was spent raising cattle, chickens, and honeybees.  Any free time was spent running through the woods picking berries, down at the river fishing and swimming, or riding motorcycles.  

     I have expanded my love of vegetable and fruit gardening into mushroom cultivation, and tree and plant collecting.  In more recent years, I have developed a love of water gardening.  I find it to be one of the most satisfying projects and it truly makes me feel like an artist; the ground being my canvas and my brush is a shovel.
