Winter 2007

The following are goals and tasks we would like to complete by the end of spring quarter 2007.
  • Create a path near the maple that connects site A to site C. This path can lead to a viewing point near the maple looking towards the seasonal creek to the west.
  • Clear clover near maple for a path – transplant in another area.
  • Finish transplanting nootka rose.
  • Complete sitting area near western red cedar.

Desired plants for Mixed Forest C as of March 2007

Evergreen violet Viola sempervirens
False solomon's seal Smilacina racemosa
Oceanspray Holodiscus discolor
Red flowering current Ribes sanguineum
Trillium Trillium ovatum
Vanilla leaf Achlys triphylla
Vine maple Acer circinatum

Fall 2006

Here are some of our goals so far for our site:

Re-establish path: weed path, clear of excess fallen leaves, re-mulch, fill in stone gaps

Prune: nootka rose at path edge, ferns taking over path

We would both like to learn about how to prune correctly and which plants are weeds to be pulled.

We will put more as we think of them but right now this is what we are focusing on in the immediate future.
