MY PERSONAL GARDEN

MY PERSONAL GARDEN PLAN In addition to working on Marilee’s garden, I also have picked out a spot at my house that needs renovation.  On the back of our house, the previous owners put in a raised garden with grapes and a cherry tree.  The cherry tree has never fruited and the grapes desperately need to be trellised.   (See attached Drawing) I plan on permaculturing underneath the tree in hopes that I might draw pollinators and it will fruit.  I have not picked out my plants yet, but I hope to decide on both medicinal and food plants for that area.  Right now the area is filled with grass and morning glory vines and I know they are probably choking the tree.   I plan on building a trellis for the vines and planting medicinal and food plants under there as well.  There is currently a Chinese lantern plant growing through the middle of the vines and some rhubarb underneath.  I had hoped to have pictures today, but keep forgetting to take them.   To  the left of the vines is pampas grass that I love an plan to keep.  It also needs some nurturing.   That is the basic plan for my home.  For Marilee’s, we will be finishing the laying of compost in her yard, planting a living border between her yard and her neighbor,  and possibly helping plant her vegetable garden.  We have not met with her yet.
