Why do gardeners garden?
Gardeners do their thing for various reasons, usually for the joy of working with the earth that most gardeners feel, because if they didn't, why would they garden? Well the other reason is for practical reasons, such as a need for food or herbs. In previous times it was not really a choice to garden or not to garden, we had to take care of ourselves. Farming wasn't a business but a way of life.
Gardens also create beauty and some garden merely for these purposes, to spread beauty or to the catch the eyes of others.
People garden for infinite reasons, the same way we do anything, but the base reason for all actions is the thirst for happiness.
