Parker's log

I don't really know what to do for the logs, and I apologize profusely for not doing anything about it to date. I've been a bit overwhelmed this quarter and have trouble keeping things together. Nor do I know what what to do in my section for the longhouse garden, the PMT. It's a big piece of poo and it needs an extreme makeover home edition before I can feel morally comfertable subjecting poor innocent plants to living there. The whole place doesn't get enough sun on account of the trees there, and perhaps even moreso because of the trees accross the wayin mixed forrest B, so it seems kind of hopeless. The soil is dry and rocky and FULL of woodchips. The whole place needs to be tilled over with some good soil. I tried to work something out with the organic farm to obtain some good compost, and talked to the person that others claimed was in charge, and she said to write a note of my request and leave it for them in the office, and they never contacted me and I'm pissed. The only work I've done is countless hours of weeding (i don't know how many, I had a tracking sheet but I lost it), and some trimming back of the sword ferns. I also did some de-rocking in the process of collecting some pebbles for my personal garden, and have picked up an appalling amount of garbage. Now, I love just being outside and working on the garden, but this is kind of depressing in that and involves only taking life rather than giving and sustaining it, and is not all that healing. Furthermore, I don't know what I'm doing, neither does Elaine, and I don't think Sebastian is much better off except that he's more motivated. I don't agree with your decision to assign us three, and no one who actually knows what to do, to the section that needs the most help, I kind of feel shafted and helpless. Please help.

PS Elaine and I are having trouble with our houseplants. The garden we're working on at Media Island is in no fit state for planting and needs a lot more manpower than just us if it's ever going to be anything but weeds, so our personal garden is still living in pots near the east-facing window in our dorm. They don't get that much sunlight, so I try to suplement with my full-spectrum lamp. I missed watering them for maybe a day or two, and the lemon balm is all wilted and this morning the catnip looked like it was dead, but I gave it lots of water and light and took off the dried leaves and it perked up again; the lemon balm is still not doing that good.
