Healing Gardens

This week was a busy week in the prairie for me and my group. I was able to contact maria lee Peterson in regards to procuring the beargrass we were in search of. Also I purchased a single potted specimen of bear grass at the Olympia farmers market on friday and went back on Sunday to fin d more but he was sold out. Mike and laura and I were luck enough to get a chance to meet maria and peter and discuss the prospect of finding grasses and they happily led us in the right direction. Peter showed us some awesome art work that he had created and collected and donated laura and I some overstocked cedar wood he had in their workshop. We traveled to the location where they directed us and were lucky to find what we are almost sure to be a bear grass specimen. My theory is that what we relocated is more than 1 plant clumped together into a bunch grass. I purchased more gardening supplies today including a weeding tools and some Atlas thermal gloves. Alsom work was done on the power point presentation including creating a slide design and uploading all the photography taken this quarter in the garden or related to our project. Today I spent an hour and a half digging the trail in the prairie and planting bunch grasses in the road side prairie. Total I worked more than 5 hours but I am logging what I did as five to be an overachiever.
