ARCHIVE - Donna Lee's blog http://www2.evergreen.edu/languageofpolitics/blog/14 en ARCHIVE - Hillary, where did you get that money? http://www2.evergreen.edu/languageofpolitics/hillary-where-did-you-get-that-money I am responding to the piece on Hillary Clinton taking campaign money from terrorist sources. It is a no brainer to realize that campaign funding sources should be thoroughly checked out. I do have a question though...Who is defining these contributors as terrorist-tied? The article stated that the gentleman was a Palestinian business man. Did she know better? Probably, however how many of us would not take money for something we want and not be concerned who the giver was tied to? Should she know better? Hell yes! She was not in the White House with Bill and experiencing all of the investigative times for him to gain the presidential seat without knowing exactly what to say or do in certain situations.
http://www2.evergreen.edu/languageofpolitics/hillary-where-did-you-get-that-money#comment Wed, 30 May 2007 10:06:14 -0700 Donna Lee 150 at http://www2.evergreen.edu/languageofpolitics ARCHIVE - Social Framing http://www2.evergreen.edu/languageofpolitics/social-framing
I really enjoyed the articles and the class discussion on the subjet of social framing. I found through the discussions that Framing is both negative and positive. I was in the Prison discussion group and I was amazed at the amount of froaming that was brought from the global to the near personal level, for me. I had no idea the range and how complex the thinking has to be to accomplish the end goal of the framing projects that are taken on in politics. This was very eye opening for me.

http://www2.evergreen.edu/languageofpolitics/social-framing#comment Mon, 14 May 2007 12:06:07 -0700 Donna Lee 96 at http://www2.evergreen.edu/languageofpolitics ARCHIVE - Last week's film http://www2.evergreen.edu/languageofpolitics/last-weeks-film
I found that there were a few racially slanted leads in this film, especially where the film was discussing gang violence and they showed not only a picture of black men carrying a coffin, they also showed what could have been labeled a gang "meet and greet". This showed that the film was made several years ago. I do not believe that this type of thing would escape the cutting room floor anymore. As for the idea that there is so much emphasis on environment...yes, I believe that environment is a large percentage. I also believe that we can counteract environmental factors. I did find the film to be very good though.

http://www2.evergreen.edu/languageofpolitics/last-weeks-film#comment Mon, 16 Apr 2007 15:51:54 -0700 Donna Lee 50 at http://www2.evergreen.edu/languageofpolitics
