INTERVIEWING STUDENTS ABOUT THEIR OWN LEARNING   April 15, 2008

This is due April 22; interview minimum 3 students.  Each is to be asked all three questions (could do as a handout); studentsÕ responses are to be written and brought to seminar next week (to share within our cohort)

 

  1. What learning outcome (target) are you working toward?
    1. You might ask:

                                                    i.     ÒWhat are we learning today?Ó

  1. In what way is this learning important (valuable) to you? 
  2. How is your learning being evaluated?
    1. You might ask:

                                                    i.     How will the teacher know if youÕve learned _X_?

                                                     ii.     How will you know?

Extension Activity: please consider doing these questions as well, at least with one student

  1. What progress have you made with regards to this learning? 
    1. What steps do you need to do next?
    2. What resources might you use?

 

Paper: Discussed April 22, due in portfolio at end of quarter

 

Based on the answers you received to the above questions, write a paper of approximately one page in which you discuss the result you obtained from your students. You should consider the content and usefulness (to you as teacher) of your student responses.
