daily BMR / calorie needs

1st - calculate your daily energy needs [this should already be
done from previous assignment].
·
2nd - calculate your daily fat, carbohydrate and protein needs in
kcals and grams and indicate what your daily fat, carbohydrate and protein
needs in kcals and grams are.

3rd - Using food composition tables to look up the meals and
write out information in the appropriate grids.
·
4th - for each meal indicated - calculate the total kcals, grams
and % of your daily intake for calories, fat, carbohydrates, protein, cholesterol and
fiber.

5th- write out your favorite fast food meal and calculate the
total kcals, grams and % of your daily intake for calories, fat, carbohydrates,
protein, cholesterol and fiber.

What was the ‘best’ meal in fiber content? What
modifications could be made to increase fiber in any of the other meals?

Which meal had the least cholesterol content?

– calories to grams are simple division. Each gram of
protein/carbohydrates = 4 grams. Take calories and divide by 4 to give
grams. Do the same for fats – but use 9 grams.
