This is both an oral and written
assignment. Each person will research a
food, of your choice with instructor approval.
It must be a whole food like a fruit, veggie or grain.
Written Reports should include the
following:

name of food- any ‘nicknames’ & scientific/botanical names
·
family of food - ie: peas are in the legume family
·
serving size
·
significant nutrients contained in a
serving - ie protein, fat, fiber,
vitamins.....
·
cost per serving of organic and non-organic
offerings ( go to a few grocery stores, coop &/or farmers market and find
price range )
·
tips on selective storage &
preparation. recipes
·
where is it grown? when is it grown?
·
special properties? - any medicinal
properties? current research indicating
it as a nutriceutical?
Written reports must be typed in an 11 or 12 font, and are due at the time of your Oral Presentation. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Oral reports will be a short 3 – 5 min. infomercial Try to sell us
your food - tell us all the great things about it in a light hearted - creative
way.
Presented to the class on assigned date. Dates of Oral Presentation to be determined by Instructor and
assigned Tuesday April 17th.
