Artist Statement Part II

The pre-statement

The pre-statement

Take a close look at your Studio and Artistic Process writing assignments from this week and begin extracting ideas that reoccurring patterns, , or imagery. Begin by listing these ideas and then write 2-3 formal paragraphs, no more than one page in length. Explain, in an organized fashion, the way you work over time. What kinds of patterns do you see in your work? Do you look in the same kinds of places for inspiration? The goal is to begin writing in specific terms about your work and improving communication skills. If you focus and pay attention to how you operate, writing an artist statement will be easier.

Please bring a copy to Thursday's class.
