The Welfare Zone: Havah Aviv Window One

This snapshot of what should have been a five minute trip to the welfare office reveals the bureaucracy imbedded in the welfare system. Havah Aviv's comedic telling of a real life experience sheds light on the amount of effort the state puts into degrading those who come to use the services of DSHS by relentlessly herding them through this system.

This is a pilot episode of a radio show that POWER (Parents organizing for welfare and economic rights) plans on persuing in the future.

Thank you to Havah Aviv for sharing her story, Monica Peabody for her efforts in the community, and all of those involved in POWER.
