How does he present their attitudes towards their work? en ARCHIVE - umm http://www2.evergreen.edu/shadow/umm
Zola is sympathetic to the miners to a certain degree. He feels that they situation is horrible and that they are the victims... But, at the same time he brings up ideas that make the miners seem like they are victimizing themselves. For example, spewing out babies all over the place only creates more mouths to feed and more demand for money, and in the end the workers won't stand up against the company so they fail.
http://www2.evergreen.edu/shadow/umm#comment Perspectives on Miners and Work Sat, 27 Jan 2007 21:32:51 -0800 beamat28 256 at http://www2.evergreen.edu/shadow
