Excerpt of Emma Holly's Identity Paper (approved by Anna)

People often define me so specifically and with such certainty it makes my skin crawl and I have the urge to scream. I therefore try to recognize when I am doing the same. How often do I put people in boxes based on their religion, ethnicity, livelihood, or moral integrity? How often do I write people off based on one single aspect of their identity I find less than appealing? It just goes to show how easy it is to attempt to compartmentalize other people's identity-which in the name of open-mindedness, can be detrimental.
