Sun Burning Through

The fog was thick in the morning when I woke up in Ilwaco. I looked out the window and saw nothing. My cousin was worried that it wouldn't clear before I left. Her house was perched on a hill over the Columbia river in Fort Columbia Park. Once it had been the officer's quarters, built over a century ago. my cousin described the view through the window, but it was hard to imagine through the white wall. Several hours later, the sun burnt through and I saw the view from the park across the river from her house.
