On page 48 of The Book of Secrets, where the topic of the cure of Vertigo is presented, it is stated "The manner of doing these things consisteth in this, that the bearer, for a good effect, be clean from all pollution or defiling of the body." This seems to be an almost obvious solution to many forms of illness in line with the other prescriptions listed. In today's modern sciences and healthcare, purity of body is also the greatest goal. How is the approach of Albertus Magnus different from today's modern medicine within methodology and description of bodily purity?
