Hi all. So this is the intro to Tasha. I'll be the calc/physics tutor for this quarter as I've taken a few calculus classes and took a year of calculus based physics a few years ago. SO IF YOU NEED SOME HELP WITH CALCULUS or PHYSICS I'll be up by Mario's office SEM II B3121 on Mondays after class and on Wednesdays starting at 1pm.
I like studying math and physics, though I have focused more on the "soft" sciences, philosophy and anthropology..., and art before I transferred here this summer. I'm interested in logical paradoxes and discovering a "new" logical structure, which will probably just be a revision of the classical model. I'm also interested in quantum physics and hope to take a quarter of that next year. But right now I'm really excited about studying cognition and learning more about modeling and experimenting reliably so that I can do research in the science of consciousness.
I also like creating - I've been making animations this summer, and collages. I live in the woods (not the Evergreen woods, ... anymore) now I live in a little cabin in a 20 acre mature 2nd growth forest about 1.5 miles from the organic farm on campus. I do not have electricity... or running water, or internet (as of yet, though maybe someone will move into the obscenely large house nearby and I can pirate it). I pump my water by hand from an artesian spring on the property. It is delicious.
I bike to class, but it doesn't take very long 15 minutes, or 20 if I'm really sleepy. I study whenever I feel motivated to do so, and though I'm a bit of a procrastinator I always manage to get everything done, well. and on time. But I am not opposed to studying in groups, it really helps me get a new perspective on old ideas and brings to light some new ones. After class is a good time, also, I'm in Group A, so every even #ed Friday, and Thurs mornings I'll be free.
my new special email for the class is tashaatomic@hotmail.com (amazing. i feel like a superhero)
