I realized that as I have grown in my life everything that has happened to me was because of my decisions. Forgiveness is something that you do when you have been wronged by someone, but how can you be wronged by anyone when you have the ability to choose how you deal with what they have done or you have perceived that they have done to you. This means that emotions play a major part in this and you can control your emotions and reactions.
http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/forgiveness-12#comment Fri, 07 Mar 2008 10:27:28 -0800 Walter L. So I had to put it on paper to test this theory. First when I wake up, I would have breakfast and read the paper. I chose this because it would relax me before I got started. Then I would shower and dress and start my day.

http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/second-activities#comment Tue, 04 Mar 2008 19:28:22 -0800 Walter L. I wish that we would have had time to do the group band for Mark's wall, but we stayed to long at the restaurant. I learned some things that I didn't know about the music scene in the State of Washington. I found the whole expierence very uplifting and will be doing more things like this in the future. Just think I was educated while having fun,go figure.
http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/emp-exprience#comment Tue, 04 Mar 2008 19:11:02 -0800 Walter L. I really got a fulkl understanding of how I think sometimes when things are not going right for me. The thought process that I use is very intriguing to me, for the way my mind works shows me that sometimes I have the ability to not process what I see and hear in the right manner. I love the four principles or pillars that they talk about in the book. They are what is going to help me with my thinking. I find that I need to know myself to make any changes which means that I need to work on at least three or four of my strengths to improve my resilience. I plan on working on the first two as soon as possible. I find that I have to avoid the thinking traps that the book talks about.
http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/the-resilience-factor-10#comment Fri, 22 Feb 2008 16:27:09 -0800 Walter L. I understood the positive traits and the positive subjective states, but I couldn’t figure out the positive institutions! He also talked about how our emotions come from hereditary factors, if so how much? Why can people create different emotions from similar events through their interpretation? I thought about this for awhile and I came up with the fact that it’s in the processing of the information.
http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/compton-response-3#comment Sat, 02 Feb 2008 08:54:41 -0800 Walter L. (Up please) Some of the strategies I use for lifting my mood are watching cartoons on television, listening to music, or socializing with friends and family. I find this increase my positive emotions. The reason I chose these things are because of the fact that I can get away from life’s negative circumstances for a while. I find that when I come back to the problem I have a positive outlook to begin with again on the problem. (Down please) The way I slow my cognitive processes and physiological arousal is by either detaching myself from the situation for a few minutes by walking away to clear my mind, or by doing breathing exercises, or by meditation. I find by doing this I stay in a good mood during the day.

http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/activities#comment Fri, 01 Feb 2008 14:26:32 -0800 Walter L.
