I had no idea where EMP was even located. I go to Seattle often and regularly attend women’s Storm basketball games during the summer months.<span>  </span>I think it is great that there are women’s sports and that they have created the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). What I hadn’t realized was that every Storm game I have attended I walked right by the EMP. I always wondered what that building was. When I asked Lisa where the EMP was, she described the building and I knew exactly where it was.</font></p><p><a href="http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/my-emp-experience">read more</a></p> http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/my-emp-experience#comment Wed, 27 Feb 2008 12:37:58 -0800 Jill Story 163 at http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology ARCHIVE - The Resilience Factor http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/the-resilience-factor-0 <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center" class="MsoNormal" align="center">&#160;</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center" class="MsoNormal" align="center">&#160;</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center" class="MsoNormal" align="center">&#160;</p><p align="center">&nbsp;</p><p align="center">&nbsp;</p><p align="center"><em><font size="3"><font face="Times New Roman">The Resilience Factor</font></font></em> </p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center" class="MsoNormal" align="center"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">Book Summary by: Jill Story</font></p><p><a href="http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/the-resilience-factor-0">read more</a></p> http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/the-resilience-factor-0#comment Sat, 16 Feb 2008 17:09:40 -0800 Jill Story 120 at http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology ARCHIVE - Activity 3: "Three Blessings" & Activity 5: "The Gratitude Letter and Visit" http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/activity-3-three-blessings-activity-5-the-gratitude-letter-and-visit <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><font face="Times New Roman" size="4"><strong>Three Blessings</strong></font></p><font face="Times New Roman" size="3"> </font><em><font size="3"><font face="Times New Roman">Any thing that makes one happy or content.</font></font></em><font face="Times New Roman" size="3"> </font> <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">Write down what happened and why each happened. </font></p><font face="Times New Roman" size="3"> </font> <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">February 4, 2008, Monday</font></p><p><a href="http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/activity-3-three-blessings-activity-5-the-gratitude-letter-and-visit">read more</a></p> http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/activity-3-three-blessings-activity-5-the-gratitude-letter-and-visit#comment Sat, 16 Feb 2008 11:21:50 -0800 Jill Story 112 at http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology ARCHIVE - Activity 1 and 2 http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/activity-1-and-2 <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: 150%" class="MsoNormal"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">Activity One: Elevator Ride</font></p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: 150%" class="MsoNormal">&#160;</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: 150%" class="MsoNormal">&#160;</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: 150%" class="MsoNormal">&#160;</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: 150%" class="MsoNormal"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">1. Lifting Mood- One activity I use to lift my mood is to exercise. I love to be active. Exercising makes me feel good. It gives me energy, and keeps me in shape. It lifts my mood and eases my worries. I like to run on a treadmill, lift weights, play sports, and snowboard. Time is the major obstacle. Trying to find the time to work out is extremely hard. Ultimately I would like to work out every day in order to do so right now I would have to cut down on the amount of hours of sleep I get a night. Working and going to school full-time has been a major obstacle. As well as just starting a new relationship. Trying to balance everything has been extremely difficult. The only thing that I can do right now in my career/school/and current life is to work out whenever I get the chance. </font></p><p><a href="http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/activity-1-and-2">read more</a></p> http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/activity-1-and-2#comment Sat, 26 Jan 2008 13:54:56 -0800 Jill Story 39 at http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology ARCHIVE - An Introduction to Positive Psychology- Book Summary http://www2.evergreen.edu/positivepsychology/an-introduction-to-positive-psychology-book-summary <font size="3"><font face="Times New Roman"><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: 150%" class="MsoNormal"><strong><em>The Main Points of the Book</em>:</strong> “What is happiness?” This book takes and in-depth look at what this question actually means.
