EMP reflection
What a wonderful day it was!!! I was a little apprehensive about having to fill out the paper, it turned out to be easier than I thought(though I still had some difficulty). The EMP itself was not as fun as enjoying the time spent with classmates. I was a little disappointed that the one thing I vividly remember from the last time I went there (8 years ago) was not still there, or at least I couldn’t find it. That would be a Jimi Hendrix shrine complete with a full sixed wax sculpture.
I was surprised how when I first walked in I felt like I went back in time 8 years to when I was there before. It was a little uncomfortable because I was not doing well at that point in my life, but I was able to quickly pull myself back to the moment and enjoy the rest of my time there. It would have been nice to have more time at the EMP, but as it went the time was happily traded for a expended lunch at Buca di Beppo. I really enjoyed spending time with 12 of the members of the class and enjoying an extravagant lunch of bread, salad, lasagna, manicotti, pizza, cheese cake, chocolate cake, apple crastada, and tiramisu. The food and the company were both very memorable experiences. The walk to and from the restaurant were both very enjoyable, the weather was beautiful and I love exploring now places that I have not seen before, especially in the comfort and safety of a group that is also enjoying the adventure.
I am glad that I am at a comfortable and content place in my life and was able to live this day worry, anxiety and frustration free. Even in the
face of adversity: when I stepped outside and was inapproprately and uncomfortably hit on by a random man on the street, I was still able to put it
bahind me and move on with little to no hightened arousal. Thanks to chelsea and her hard core team work and social intelligence of taking charge of
the situation and sweeping me down the sidewalk and away from the potential threat to my relaxing day. Like I said before, it was just a wonderful and
beautiful day. It was diffinately an experience that I will carry with me and not soon if ever forget.
