Final Project Proposals and Presentations: Week 10
Due Dates for Exercises and small Design problems that incorporate skill building in sound design, Flash, and DVD production will be announced in workshops Requirements for Full Credit
1. Full participation in all class activities (this means no absences unless documented by a written excuse from a doctor). 2. Timely attendance at program events (this means no lateness will be tolerated in this program).
3. The completion of a series of assignments, including a pre-production package for a year-long production, a collaborative film or digital video piece, a personal website, an online production journal and exercises in sound design, flash applications, and DVD authoring. 4. Evaluation conference and written self-evaluation. 5. Partial credit (without prior arrangement) or incompletes will not be available in this program.
Program Reading
Required: Usai, Paolo Cherchi. (2001). The Death of Cinema: History, Cultural Memory, and the Digital Dark Age . London: BFI. Chion, Michel. (1994). Audio-Vision: Sound on Screen . New York: Columbia University Press. Both books are available at the TESC bookstore. In addition each interest group will be assigned one additional text based upon their production and conceptual needs. Texts might explore experimental animation, documentary production, narrative form etc. These texts will be assigned after week 3. Recommended:
