This is a society in which the main way productive relations are accomplished is through the utilization of ICT. When meeting face to face, individuals observe a more conventionally structured rapport with one another due to physical cues and gestures; this lends a sense of familiarity. The networked society is constantly evolving as per its open-ended nature, making for a less traditional approach to conducting relations. This is not to say that networks and traditional communities are completely different; ICT often acts as a catalyst for both. It's just that a networked society potentially enjoys greater flexibility as far as broader communication goes.
