Telling the Story:  Reading, Writing, and Viewing the Memoir.

Have you begun to write a memoir:?  Do you read or view memoirs?  This program is an exploration of the ways we think about the past, and the ways we represent that thinking.  Thus we will look at the form of the representation as well as the subject of memory.  We will ask “what is missing from this life?” as well as “what is there?”  We will explore the difference between written and filmed memoirs.
