Looks great folks. Very thorough. Here are a few general comments and things you might want to address. I think you mentioned most of these things, so just look over them and see if you want to add stuff or clarify things.
Similar to reptilian eye, so might want to look at their wiki. Flattened cornea gives large visual field. Lens is pushed closer to the cornea thus magnifying the image placed upon the retina. Fantastic accommodation, especially predatory birds! Have larger number of photoreceptors therefore great resolution. Hawk has one million per square millimeter! They also have a lot of ganglion cells…therefore less convergence…again will increase resolution/acuity. It is like their whole eye is like our fovea. Bifoveate? Indented foveas for increased magnification? Define! Two types of ciliary muscles for greater accommodation.
Spherical ossicles? Pecten? Function? Horizontal visual streaks in sea birds. Oil droplets acting as filters. And accessory cones. Explain. Hummingbirds attraction to red…do they have mostly red droplets? Pigeon navigation via polarized light. Birds that swim underwater. Binocular vision in owls. Have limited visual fields due to the binocularity of their eyes (straight ahead versus on the side)…how do they compensate? Can turn their heads! Owls are also nocturnal…color vision? Celestial navigation: can birds see stars? Could they actually navigate at night? Chickens: have difficulty focusing on close objects (ever watch them move their head when they eat??? Why do they do that? Bitterns and Snipes: they have rear binocular vision. Check it out!
