Faculty Signature Required: Junior or senior level students planning ahead for an Internship, Study Abroad or an Individual Contract to do advanced work in the social sciences fall quarter, 2008, who would like to discuss their ideas with a potential faculty sponsor, may contact Betsy Diffendal by e-mail at diffendb@evergreen.edu at any time.

Major areas of study include applied anthropology, human services, social science and education.

Class Standing: Juniors or seniors; transfer students welcome.

Betsy Diffendal sponsors individual contracts and internships primarily in the areas of anthropology, human services, education and social science. She will also sponsor students wishing to study abroad.

Juniors or seniors planning for a Fall Quarter Internship or Study Abroad, should contact the Academic Advising Office to attend an Orientation Session or read Evergreen's on-line information about Internships and Study Abroad requirements and related forms before contacting faculty. Students should prepare a draft of the Internship Learning Contract form, including as much of the required information as you can. This will give us a basis for conversation about your project and identify your questions.

Students interested in an Individual Contract, should read Evergreen's on-line information about Individual Contracts and look at the Individual Contract form which must eventually be submitted. Include as much of the information required as possible in the draft, and forward it to the faculty in preparation for discussion.

Plan ahead for a successful experience. Faculty will respond to drafts throughout the spring and summer for fall quarter at diffendb@evergreen.edu.

Credits: 4, 6, 8, 12 or 16 per quarter

Special Expenses: May vary, depending on student projects and whether a student is travelling as part of a contract or internship.

Program is preparatory for careers and future studies in social sciences, anthropology, human services and education.
