Language and Hisory

Through out the quarter we have read a verity of texts involving different accounts of the history. All of the different view ad me thinking of how language can affect how we perceive different account of the same thing. We see this in Billy Budd, Sailor, with the contrast between Billy and Claggart, we saw it in how Rediker interprets pirates contrasted to the way Jennie Hann interpreted pirates, the all the historical information we have received about our trade and industrial revolutions (with the assumption that it is first) compared to the reading about how China and other Asian Countries were had already been through the industrial revolution and because of that, paved a way for the European revolution. Most of these texts were dealing with the same topics, but because of the language the author used or how the author perceived the information feed to them, it affected they way they wrote it for their readers to read.
