Assignments

Students must complete all of the assignments below in order to receive course credit and a course evaluation.

  1. Three separate 3-4 page expository essays. Faculty will suggest topic choices for all of the essays, and all of them will be based on our class readings. The essays will be DUE on the following dates: Tues. Jan. 25; Tues. Feb. 15; Tues. Mar. 1
  2. Three in-class map quizzes: Tues. Jan. 11; Fri. Feb. 4; Tues. Feb. 22

  3. Participation in a group film review and one individual written film critique
  4. (2-3 pages, DUE on day of film class screening) based on that particular film. All students will select one film per quarter to preview, introduce it to the class, and lead small group discussions
    after the film.
  5. A final examination for the term on Mar. 11.
  6. Possible sporadic book seminar text quizzes.
  7. One official TESC student self-evaluation. DUE: end of winter term.
  8. One official TESC seminar faculty evaluation. DUE: at final evaluation conference.
  9. For Rob: A comprehensive course portfolio that will include all of the above items plus any
    additional material that might speak of your learning process for the quarter. KEEP ALL CLASS WRITTEN WORK. DUE: Friday, March 13. Pat collects written work on line and thus will already have your portfolio in a computer file.
