Continued Visits/Work

During my volunteer time, I have tried to learn as much as possible about the archives here and what makes it tick. I have pursued Randy and all the staff constantly to learn about the methods, equipment, software, website, and anything else that may help me do research to try to make our archives more popular and more accessible to the public.

Randy has welcomed me as a volunteer to work in the archives. Currently I am assisting Punanni, a Master's student here who has been working within the archives for the past five years. She is curently working on collecting archival materials to add to a new special collection called Woman of The Northwest. Sifting through thousands and thousands of documents, film, and audio footage have been overwhelming at times, but she continues to keep focus, and has currently accumulated a significant amount of material to add to the project.

When I am not pumping the staff for information concerning the library or working with Punanni, I assist Jennifer, a workstudy student who keeps a constant flow of sort material active. This is the "processing" stage of physical materials that will be entered into our archive system eventually. There is always "processing" to be done.

ALL VOLUNTEERS ARE WELCOME 7:30a.m to 4:30p.m.
