Description
In this course, we will focus on arguments—the ways that writers take positions and the ways they support those positions. Our overarching question is related to Evergreen's expectation that graduates will participate collaboratively and responsibly in our diverse society: why is that a reasonable expectation, and what does that look like in practice? We'll look at arguments related in a broad way to this expectation, from a variety of contexts. Each student will also select a topic of their own to investigate and to make an argument about.Maximum Enrollment: 24
