If you have always wanted to know what a ziggurat is for, you should take this class. Art History I is an exploration of the surviving art and artifacts of the most ancient Western civilizations: the ancient Near East, Egypt, Greece, and Rome. The European middle ages will also be covered. In addition to a text students will critically read primary source documents to facilitate their understanding of the cultures, religions, and the role of visual art.Maximum Enrollment: 24
