Description

How are we to understand ourselves, our world, and our place within the world? We usually depend on "common-sense" presuppositions about these questions. But sometimes we need to reflect on and question those presuppositions. In this course, we will reflect on our presuppositions about ourselves and our world through close readings of several philosophical texts, through intensive writing, and through discussion. In all of this work we will be concerned with how it can help us to live well. Credit will be awarded in philosophy.
