Black and White Photography: Summerwork
Summer 2014 quarter
Taught by
visual arts, art history, photography
Summerwork is an intensive, hands-on program for students of all skill levels wishing to learn the basics of the 35mm camera (or larger format), darkroom techniques, aesthetics, and a short history of photography. Expect to shoot at least 20 rolls of film for full credit. A final project involves production of a book of photographs; each student will receive a copy at quarter’s end. Emphasis is placed on learning to see as an artist does, taking risks with one’s work, and being open to new ideas.
