This course emphasizes beginning-level skill development in camera use,
lighting, exposure, b/w film and print processing. We will also briefly
explore basic color printing and digital photography techniques. The
essential elements of the class will include assignments, critiques and
surveys of images by other photographers. Students of this class will
develop a basic understanding of the language of photography, as a
communications tool and a means for personal expression. Students must
invest ample time outside of class to complete assignments.
