Gary Peterson

Gary Peterson  is a member of the Skokomish Tribe and a life-long resident of the Skokomish Reservation. He has served the Skokomish community for the past 29 years as a tribal council member, administrator and community volunteer. 

Gary is a founding board member and current president of the National Indian Child Welfare Association, a national advocacy group for Indian children and families. 

Gary received a Master Degree in Social Work from the University of Washington. 

This year Gary took over administrator duties of the Reservation Based, Community-Determined Program. This position was held by Paul Tamburro last year, who left to go back to school himself.

Gary is married to Yvonne Peterson.
