Robin Fenske is a Senior at The Evergreen State College. Her motivation for the project comes from her need to apply complex understanding to effectively impact social systems. This is strongly rooted in her lifelong desire to motivate social change. She has taken a wide range of classes during her academic career in an effort to gain a deep and broad understanding of the world. Her studies ranged from Gender, Political Oppression, Mediation, Compassionate Listening, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus. Her programs include Bodies of Contention, America in Dissent, The Power and Limitations of Dialogue, Molecule to Organism, and finally Energy Systems, where she joined Mark.
Energy Systems was designed to prepare students to complete a research project during the winter and spring quarters. Both Mark and Robin became so engaged and motivated by their developing project that they decided to devote more of their time and energy on the project. To see Robin's paperless "e-portfolio" from the Fall 2004 quarter, click here. Winter 2005 quarter was spent in a independent learning contract with faculty sponsor from Energy Systems, EJ Zita. They
both completed the project through an independent learning contract
with Nancy Parkes, faculty of In Search of Sustainability.
