Your Film Journal is essential to gleaning ideas from the films and retaining some memory of what you've seen.

Analytical reflections on each film should be included in your seminar papers and your synthesis papers.

On most Thursday's you'll have time immediately after the film to make notes and record reflections. You would benefit, however, from developing some method of making notes during the films.

We recommend pursing additional information about each film before or after each viewing. Search the web for reviews and information. On the films page, we will provide any links that we find useful.

You will submit your film journal as part of your final portfolio. Your journal should demonstrate critical attention to each film and the development of your skills in film analysis.
