Step One: What Do You Know?
If you have a time constraint, the best plan is to research something that you are intimately familiar with.
Because I come from a Christian background, I am going to explore baptism in the early church and its possible evolution from pagan religions.
Tips for Choosing a Last Minute Topic
1. Stick with a topic that you know something about.
2. Be open to changing your topic, if you cannot find information
3. Scan: read the abstract, the first paragraph, and the last paragraph
4. Use the index and the Table of Contents in the books you find to speed
up your progress
5. Keep careful notes: it will save you time later on.
