Organic Gardening

2 cr, Organic Farm, Friday 10-noon

A hands-on approach to organic gardening, students will plan and plant a small plot. Various topics include starting seeds, transplanting, building a cold frame, fertilization, backyard composting/worm bins, tilling the soil and basic botany. Books include (all in bookstore except Maritime Northwest Garden Guide that is at Black Lake Organics): Tilth’s Maritime Northwest Garden Guide; Botany for Gardeners, and Vegetable Growing West of the Cascades (5 th Edn).
