harvest festival I had such a wounderful time helping out with the pumpkin carving table at the harvest festival last saturday. I spent 2 hours helping children prepare and carve their jack-o-lanterns. it was so enjoyable to watch the creativity and joy from the children.
10-12-05 Garfield Elementary Aside from my required observation time I helped out in the classroom. from 9-10 was educational project and fre play time. I assisted children in coloring color matching books, playing color and counting games and making healthy meals in the play kitchen. durring outside play time we played duck duck goose, raced and looked for leaves on the playground. It was intaresting how in the small group of children that I worked with, there is such a wide range of ability and mannor levels. Overall they are all such wounderful children.
10-19-05 Garfield Elementary While in the classroom today I notices that it seems so impersonal to me that story time is book-on-tape. it seems to me that children can relateand learn better when they are being read to in person and not just listening to a tape telling a story. They all seem to listen to jennifer, the teacher, when she is talking but have lack of focus when the tape is playing. I also noticed that most of the children with speech problems or are very hard to understand love the spinning and bouncing toys at recess.
10-24-05 Beth's House I feel much better not that I attended a roosevelt garden meeting at beths house today. We discussed the expectations that the garden has for our group as well as what us students want to get out of the garden. We also set up dates that our group can get started doing some garden work. I am very excited to see the garden and get started.
10-30-05 Roosevelt garden This was my first day of being able to finally get into the garden and work. Our task was to weed the garden beds and surrounding grounds to prepare for the children to plant bulbs this comming saturday.
11-5-05 Roosevelt garden

It was nice to get back to work in the garden so soon. today was the "make a difference day" that is used to pretty up the grounds at the school. our projects were to dig up the weeds out of the concrete in and around the parking lot, and weed the fence line. After the fence line was weeded we had to cut and lay down strips of cardboard and spread mulch to provent future weed growth.

11-7-05 my home Melanie and I met today to talk about what our plans were for the lesson plan to be carried out in our joint classroom at Garfiels. I feel so much better not that ideas are getting tossed around, it really helped to take the stress out of this part of the project at least.
11-8-05 Garfield Melanie and I met with teacher Jennifer in the preschool. where we found out that the only available time for us to do out lesson will be tomorrow. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
11-9-05 Garfield I had a really greaat time carring out the lesson plan today. the children did a painted word project that was so amaizing. I was in awe watching them make beautiful art. though the task was to paint their names, not many of them coud to so, but they were so concentrated in their painting and created wounderful expressions which was the basis of the wounderful outcome that I anticipated and recieved.
12-16-05 TESC library I had such a great time hanging work for the painted word art show. It was so relaxing to be surrounded by so may pieces of beautiful art as well as seeing myself becoming part of such a beautiful show. We all appeared to be having fun listening to music and arranging and rearranging pieces to make the beautiful finished product.
9-28-05 harvest fest meeting at the meeting we decided who was going to be incharge of what project stations at the harvest festival. I am going to be running the pumpkin carving table. I am so excited to be at that table because my daughter loves to carve pumpkins and I will be able to helpand watch her while getting hours.
9-30-05 at my house I loved spending time with my daughter collecting leaves with my daughter for the luminary project table at the harvest festivla. We walked around our yard and surrounding areas picking up anything that she found intaresting.
10-7-05 Garfield I met teacher Jennifer for the first time to talk about the way things go in her classroom and to find out if I was infact welcome to help out in her classroom. I was very relieved to find jennifer to be so sweet, relaxed and friendly. I am looking forward to working with her.
11-7-05 my house I spent time looking through some books to try and find a lesson plan to teach the proschoolers. I was very discouraged to not come up with anything that would work. Melanie and I came up with a couple of ideas earlier today but I still feel very up in the air and I am very unrestful with that feeling inside of me.
