Tuesday, January 23 Diversity lecture series with Ruth Wilson Gilmore. Meet at 6 p.m. in Lecture Hall 1. Workshop: Doing Intellectual Work, and Doing Academic Research and Writing. Assignment: Finish Perils and bring two copies of essay response for seminar. Also, write a one-paragraph description of your project. Include your research question.

Guest Lecture: Jules Unsel on the progressives, seminar on Perils of Prosperity. Project topic is due, with one-paragraph summary of your question or focus.
Assignment: read Eyes on the Prize and write essay response for Feb. 1.
